Designing the Mango Jhumka was more than just a creative process; it was a journey steeped in memories and emotions. We set out to recreate the sweet, nostalgic feeling of sitting under a mango tree, with it's joyful shade.
Recreating Nostalgia
As we were thinking how we could capture this best, the potential of using the traditional form and classic dome of the Jhumka stood out as the perfect canvas for this vision.
When you start drawing a mango tree, you can't help but admire the beautiful compositions formed by the leaves as they surround the mangoes. We started imagining ways to capture the same organic, symmetry-in-asymmetry in the jhumka, while giving it a contemporary flavor.
But something was amiss—the leaves fell symmetrically and beautifully, but we hadn't achieved the organic symmetry-in-asymmetry we had envisioned. So, we added a little twist and decided to offset the domes at different angles.
We played with the number of leafy layers, but when we completed the final renders, there was no doubt we were making this.
