Rasä Part 3: The Cast

Rasä Part 3: The Cast

As we envisioned the cast of Rasä—the motifs and shapes that are embodied in dance—we were drawn to the beauty and significance of circular forms. It is a shape that feels both grounding and uplifting, reminding us of the interconnectedness of all things.

Additionally, we sought motifs that embody the deep connection of a dancer—to nature, the dichotomy of life, and the feeling of being whole and complete.

Fishes symbolize adaptability and resilience, mirroring the way dancers navigate through various rhythms and stages of life. They thrive in different waters, moving gracefully with the ebbs and flows, much like the interconnectedness of all life forms in nature.

Mogra buds capture the essence of beauty and new beginnings. Their delicate blossoms exude a fragrance that speaks of hope and renewal, evoking cherished memories. Despite their brief bloom, they leave a lasting impression, much like the fleeting moments that linger in our minds.

The Sun and Moon represent the eternal dance of day and night, embodying balance and duality. They guide us through the cyclical nature of life, where every dawn is a new beginning and every dusk a moment of reflection. This duality is a reminder of the harmony that exists within contrasts, just as in dance, where every movement is both an expression and a pause.

Each piece in rasä will be a beautiful choreography involving this cast.
